Multiplex: Citizen writes "Our city leaders have failed us"
From the Woodland Record - Letter to the Editor:
It is so sad to see this [multiplex] process come to such an end. By pulling out of the process, and pursuing a "different direction," Petrovich and Cinema West have just elevated the process to the next level of contentiousness and rigor. IF the plans are to build at the site of the "Electric Garage," a contributing building to our historic district, they will inevitably run into stiff opposition to their CEQA EIR.
However, in the end I feel most disappointed in our City Council, Redevelopment Agency and our community leadership. It is just befuddling to me that they didn't have the resolve or commitment to follow their own timeline as outlined in the RDA RFP.

I am so thankful that the firm I currently work for does not do any projects in the City of Woodland. The closest we have is doing work for the County of Yolo, and that is close enough for me.
Is the make point?
Wow, This Anonymous poster must have some real time on their hands. They went all the way back to July 29th of 2008 to find a bit of a continuous, engaging conversation they could take out of context in an attempt to smear me. Incredible.
The actual link location is here:

I really hope the readers of this blog take the time to go through the exchange between (then) Planning Commissioner Martie Dote, a dude named Glenn, Dino, and a bunch of anonymous posters. The majority of the posts were inquisitive, interested, and productive. Unlike the anonymous poster above, I am interested in making a difference in my community.
Why is it such a prevalent human trait to want to tear down those who speak up? To anon 10/29, 10:40 AM, either you don't have the guts to post your name, or you don't want your fellow citizens to recognize your sinister idiocy.
I stand behind my comments 100% in that article.
Additionally, here are a few other posts where I stand behind my comments.

(but then, my comments on those posts don't play into your agenda)
Next time you want to 'call me out' why don't you post the link to whole article.
Pathetic.
Chris,
It appears the trolls can only shoot from the hip with duds. It IS pathetic that they can't address the issue and can only post comments about the individuals who actually take time to study the issue.
Blame the city folks. But the culprits were the developers. They failed to provide the required and requested additional information. Mr. Caceres never had an agreement with Chase Bank; he still does not and never will.
Stage 1 = Rank the proposals, select one
Stage 2 = Developer agreement, work out details
Stages 3+ = More details, Project approved, budget finalized, redevelopment happens
Nobody claimed Chase had a formal agreement with Caceres. Fact: Chase told Caceres team they would consider relocating.
Caceres does not necessarily have to have any agreement with Chase for them to move.
Hint: Read and be informed... simply repeating yourself doesn't make your fantasies come true.
If Ron is serious about saving a historic landmark "the state theater", then why doesn’t he close escrow today on the State Theater building and prove to the City and the local community that regardless of the outcome of the RFP he is committed to restoring the historic character of the building?
Dino - I would like to hear your response to this question.
