County: Lack of details fatal to Gateway II draft EIR
From the Woodland Record:
In a letter from Yolo County to the City of Woodland regarding a proposed annexation of 154 acres, chairman Helen Thomson stated, "The lack of project details in the Gateway II DEIR is a fatal flaw to the entire environmental analysis." The letter was previously drafted by county staff and approved in today's meeting by the board of supervisors in accordance to the 90-day review period of the Draft Environmental Impact Report for Phase II Woodland Gateway Project.
In October, 2009, the county also submitted a response to the project's Notice of Preparation and requested that the city provide more specific details and other key analyses. In the response approved today, Thomson stated, "Unfortunately, the DEIR includes the same hand drawn Site Plan land use map that appeared in the NOP, with no detailed plans for the site other than generalized use areas... that do not have defined acreages" and the "DEIR for the Gateway II project does no meet [the] standard of providing a good and detailed analysis."
During today's discussion county supervisor Matt Rexroad (who represents Woodland) stated, "I don't care about this... this project is not going anywhere."
