Friends of the State Theatre group forms as local developer plans renovation and expansion of the historic asset

From the Woodland Record:
Local historian David Wilkinson has followed the lead of developer Ron Caceres (another Woodlander) and has formed a group called "Friends of the State Theatre." The mission of the group is to support the renovation and expansion of the historic State Theatre according to Project 105 of the City of Woodland’s Downtown Specific Plan. The goal: To save the State Theatre as the only historic movie house in the historic downtown district.
In a prepared letter, Caceras stated, "The State Theatre is a cultural icon and the City of Woodland’s only downtown theater. The theater dates back to 1937 and is a example of Streamline Moderne (Art Deco) architecture that is rarely seen in Woodland. My interest is in preserving the architecture and heritage of this building. We have a unique and immediate opportunity to preserve and restore the State Theatre for generations to come. If ever we want to do something, now is the time." Now is the time because the Request for Proposals (RFP) for a downtown multiplex that the city's redevelopment agency (city council) issued is due on June 10. The RFP was released on May 5.

Is this the same ron caceres that is blue ice llc????
Yes he is, he & Blue Ice LLC go together, so watch out & be aware of the snake & company...remember Blue Shield building & Woodland School District, just to name one. Also, People wonder if he ever sold his home in Faria Park?
Okay, same person. Yes, we really have to watch out for Ron (and not the five suckers at WJUSD meaning Jackie and crew). Say hi to Petrovich and Millsap.
Why does his name sound familiar? Does he have a business downtown?
I find it interesting Engstrom is part of the blue ice consortium.
The City (City manager Kirkwood / Former Mayor Dave Flory) gave him free money from the general fund to re develop the Woodland Hotel and then stuck in a bunch of homeless / parolees and he makes a pile of money off this at the detriment of the downtown corridor.
Then the Deal OF the CENTURY on the Blue Shield building.
Someone really needs to look into his history along with his cronies, Stallard, Flory... and the money exchange going on for select developers, while we all pay more in water, sewer yata yata yata.
Plus ....
1:41 and 1:50 same person again So the Hotel Woodland renovation is bad and it houses low income people so that causes homeless people to go downtown? Go ask your developer buddy Petro about sweet deals from the city, Flory and Kirkwood. While your at it go talk to the fab 4 and that little bug Jackie about the Blue Shield deal. After that go kiss Petro and Millsaps butts.
Great photograph, the building was really magnificent in its day. It would be nice to have a blow up of this hanging up in the State theater. Just curious is you happen know if they stored any of the facade from the State theater or why it was removed in the first place and what year it happened?
Mike told me he had or had access to a facade in storage from a theater in Or. Not sure of the official name for that type of facade.
There is or used to be money from the cities redevelopment fund to offer matching funds to revamp store fronts. It might be possible to upgrade the existing front using this money.
I received a letter from the city a couple of weeks ago stating they were going to replace the lamp posts. I hope this includes the ones in front of the State Theater and Elm Ford. That will really help our end of town because the ones there now are so rusted. I am not sure we need to spend the money to replace these, just painted. I have been patiently waiting for these to be painted since I bought my building in 2000. Thank you to whomever is overseeing the lamp post upgrade.

Caceres,Engstrom,Kirkwood,PetrovichFlory,Stallard & certain WJUSD school board members are all in the same catagory of a bunch of under handed a$$'s. One would think that at least Engstrom would think twice about selling out the community & taxpayers since he grew up here, thats when Woodland was a nice decent town, his family must be real prowd of his so called accomplishments regardless of how under handed.
Brenda,
That is a good idea about hanging a poster up at the State to show patrons what the theater will look like again.
The old marquee is gone. Destroyed. CalTrans made Richard Mann, the owner, take it down when Hwy 16 became part of Main St. He had to do it at his own expense.
Also, several years ago Mann had a theater operator interested in renovating the State and adding a multiplex but the city made it impossible for them to do it... ironically it was because Kirkwood had already started scheming with Petrovich to put a theater complex at Third Street. That is why Petrovich bought the Electric Garage (where Hoblit is). Double irony... that theatre operator interested in the renovating the State was Dave Corkill who is now in cahoots with Petrovich. Corkill was very upset with the city then, but now that the city hooked him up with Petrovich his story has changed. He claims the State theatre renovation and expansion was unfeasible.
Caceres' plan is to take off the 70s facade, replicate the old marquee, and replicate the old ticket booth.
If you look at the photo of the 1937 State, you will see the old style lamp post.

That is just ridiculous to put Caceres, Engstrom and Stallard in the same category as Petrovich. Just absurd.
I bet thanksgiving dinner at the Engstom's must be fun. They have in cabo at Scott Sheldon place I still say some vof the fab 4 vaction their.
From Dictionary.com:
il·lit·er·ate [ih-lit-er-it]
–adjective
1."vof the fab 4 vaction their"
dino: I guess my fingers are bigger and fatter than yours and your head sorry for the extra letters I will try harder next time to leave them out. But it seem you have caceres as a Icon in your books or bed what ever.Hes still with blue ice no ifs ands or butts about it . He took the fab 4 for a ride and maybe you not me!!
Caceras and Engstrom should be real proud after the Blue Shield dealing. They put it to us and kids for next decade or more. Yes the Fab four should be included so lets make it the FAB 6 They are two snakes in the grass, so be prepared for next underhanded dealing. I hope the Council will see through any underhanded deals that they cook up.
Dino- 1:23
How is Stallard, Engstrom and Petrovich not alike? They probably all wear white sheets and get their grove on together at the developer ball, note I have on good accord the media for this is directed by Flory on the phone to Matt Rexroad's Meridian Pacific. Each year. Cabo-Wabo - Where Ever.
The first two jealously giving homage and secret aspirations to Petrodick for obtaining the highest pillar as his Royal King A$$-holy-ne$$.
BTW- least we forget Mr. Weisman in the mix.
Art Pimental, Millsap, Flory et al are the drivers. It za tax write of ya know.
Must say it tiz funny when the people and the developer boyz fight over who is the king of the jackassez.
Yo Homme
Dino-- You have been sold a bill of goods with Ron Caceras. Your creditability is sinking to his level. Petrovich maybe ruthless in business but he never sre***d our kids like Blue Ice LLC (Caceras and Engstrom)
4:01 Big Fingers, Dumb Ass
Those responsible for buying Blue Shield are:
Carol Sousa Cole
Bill Beerman
Elaine Lytle
Rosario Ruiz-Dark
Those are the ones who decided to buy/lease the building. Property sellers are not obligated to know what the buyers can afford or what they intend to do with the property in the future or what the budget they have and how it will affect others.
I see Caceres as an icon? Seriously? And how did you deduce that with your fat fingers and your dumb ass?
Yo Homme,
Your reasoning, spelling, grammar and posing all speak for themselves. Go comment on the Democrat's site where you can "discuss" with all the other intellectuals.
7:00
Those screwing your kids were:
Carol Sousa Cole
Bill Beerman
Elaine Lytle
Rosario Ruiz-Dark
Plus you Dino; Caceres;Engstom;Scott Sheldon;and good old Jackie; All sold the school district down the road and you want us to see the state theatre with Ron not see a great big pot of gold > Get real Dumb ASS!!!
3:45
That's hilarious. You obviously missed a year's worth of content here on this blog. I agree with you on Jacki, however, she screwed the kids along with the Fab Four. Why can't you admit it was the "trustees" who made a terrible decision? You can't blame real estate people for selling real estate at the highest price they can. What an idiot.
only if they had inside imformation that jacki and the fab 4 only wanted that building. see when ron brought and jack up the price.DINO then come tell me the ron a saint!
The only people investigating the entire Blue Shield deal more than me was the Grand Jury. The Grand Jury found no conflict of interest for Sheldon, he's just not bright. Yes, Jacki was working both ends... you still can't see that Cole, Beerman, Lytle and Ruiz-Dark were able to say no... but they didn't. The other three trustees didn't have a problem with saying no.
Saints and icons? Who are you Dan Brown? You should write a sequel to Angels and Demons about how there's a secret society of real estate people trying to make money... Ron and Paul can be the antagonists.
well dino I guess you didnt read the grand jury report. there was a conflict of interst but the da did nothing about it.
Well 2:09, you are incorrect. I did read the Grand Jury report. But you are correct about Sheldon:
Finding 14. There is a conflict of interest created in hiring a real property consultant and a real estate broker from the same real estate services firm, a conflict which may result in direct monetary benefit to the consultant and/or the broker.
I remembered this:
"The Grand Jury found no evidence of conflict of interest on the part of the district or the former owner of the Blue Shield property."
You can find all the answers here, as I previously reported:

As you can see, it's all about Cottingim, Cole, Beerman, Lytle and Ruiz-Dark. You still can't accept the fact that your "trustees" made a stupid decision.
