Paul W. Hollingshead photography exhibit ends Wednesday at UC Davis

From the Cal Aggie Alumni Association Web site:

Paul W. Hollingshead Historical Photography Collection

The Cal Aggie Alumni Association is proud to display our newest exhibit here at the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center:

Paul W. Hollingshead – Photographer – “Faces and Places of Bygone Days.” Black and white photographs covering The Roaring ‘20s through World War II.

In 1932 Paul and Vera Hollingshead opened the Hollingshead Studio in Woodland, California.

An almost forgotten treasury of 5,000 photographs and 8” x 10” negatives dating back 100 years has literally been brought to light by UC Davis Alumnus Bill Hollingshead, son of Paul W. Hollingshead (1896-1974).

Paul W. Hollingshead was a contemporary of photographers Edward Steichen (1879-1973), Edward Weston (1886-1956), Ansel Adams (1902-1984) and Dorthea Lange (1895-1965). Though little known nationally, the photographs are museum quality.
