The new Green Tea Party: Reports from independents

Photo by Woodlander Cal De Knikker taken today (Saturday, February 27) at the First Anniversary of the Tea Party Patriots in Sacramento.
From "Local lawyer emerges as face of Tea Party movement" at The Union:
One year and one day ago, Mark Meckler was known locally mostly for creating Cafe Mekka, the popular Nevada City hangout he opened in 1993 and ran for five years with his wife, Patty.
Then Meckler attended a hastily organized “Tea Party” on the steps of the Capitol in Sacramento — and catapulted himself onto the national political stage.
Since then, Meckler has crisscrossed the country as one of the co-founders of the Tea Party Patriots.

Excerpts from "Green Party reaches out to Tea Party activists" at the Independent Political Report:
Green Party leaders and candidates said that many Tea Party activists might be in the wrong party and urged them to consider going Green.
Greens, like true fiscal conservatives, oppose subsidies for health insurance companies in the Democratic plans, including proposed ‘mandates’ that would require enrollment. The Green Party has warned that, whether Obamacare is enacted or Republicans succeed in blocking reform, the real winners will be the health insurance, pharmaceutical, and other industry lobbies.

Laura Wells is running in the Green party primary as a candidate for governor. Her website with info on her solutions to improve California's future can be accessed here:http://www.laurawells.org/
I met Laura when I was working on the Peter Miguel Cameno campaigns. His passing was a huge loss. Good that Laura is stepping up to run for Governor. She is financially savvy and willing to advocate for Fair Taxes and a State Bank that invests in California.
And she is willing to take on Prop 13 keeping the good parts, but overhauling the excessive taking of local revenues by the state.
That photo was near the beginning of the event. Even with the foul weather there was a great turn out.I didn't see the main stream media from Sacramento there, several independent news outlets, internet outlets. Not all the people were Republicans, there were independents, Blue Dog "conservative" Democrat in the mix.
Isn't the tea party people really the white person party?

Without Noah Webster’s knowledge, the definition of a “racist” has been diluted and redefined to mean “a person who disagrees with a liberal,” or in more explicit terms, “any individual who uses logic to divulge evidence of liberal malfeasance.” For years, the left has used race as a bully tactic to smear and debunk those on the receiving end of the label. This desperate and exploitative attempt at winning political arguments comes at a great cost to democracy, interpersonal relations and our nation’s internal progress.
The Teabaggers are just raging libertarians who are conspiracy theorists, birthers, and uber-conservatives. Not a majority of Americans.
The Teabaggers are right wing, racist and homophobic REPUBLICANS and do not represent the AMERICAN people. it is time for the Republican Party to come out and breakaway from this fringe destructive group.
