Davis meth lab and weapons bust includes WesSac and Woodland tweakers

From City of Davis - Police:

An investigation into narcotic sales by a parolee led Officers from the Yolo Narcotics Enforcement Team (YONET) to an apartment on Alvarado Avenue in Davis where a search warrant revealed a methamphetamine lab.

On November 18 at approximately 6 pm, officers from the Davis Police Department, YONET, Woodland PD Gang Task Force, Yolo County Gang Task Force and the California Department of Corrections arrested Brandon Lee Whittmore, (34 years old from Davis) in the parking lot of the complex.

The Woodland Police Department is leaderless. No where is it more telling then arrest statistics for possession of meth and cocain. Woodland is a virtual candy store of drug trafficing and gang activity. When was the last time Woodland Police Department made an arrest for such activity.

It has been a long time. There alleged leaders want them citing mom and pop for speeding or talking on a cellular phone.

The Woodland Police Department needs new leadership. The guy they currently have is off doing personal business and running the Parks Department while Woodland burns,

You asked: "When was the last time Woodland Police Department made an arrest for such activity?"

Ummm... the post above states "On November 18 at approximately 6 pm, officers from the Davis Police Department, YONET, Woodland PD Gang Task Force, Yolo County Gang Task Force and the California Department of Corrections arrested Brandon Lee Whittmore..."

Read the Arrest Log at WoodlandRecord.com and you can see the number of people arrested.

Good to see Woodland and Davis collaborating in Meth production. It will be the drug dealers that heal the rifts between the two cities.

I agree with post 7:24am We deserve and so does the officers there. We just settled at our expense 300,000 for lawsuit another one coming. We have had more lawsuits under sullivan. He is the last of the kirkwood regime.

7:24 didn't make the points you listed. He/she said it's been a long time since WPD has arrested people for drug and gang activity... and that was false. He/she even stated that under a post that states WPD was in on the arrest of the Davis meth lab. Wow.

I do agree that the city shouldn't have provided a 10% raise to the chief for "parks and rec" duties. That was a slap in the face to the city council, unnecessary, and unethical.

So how does a drug bust in Davis relate to our Police Department?

Are you kidding?

No, I am not kidding. The tone of the responses to this article suggest that somehow our Police Chief is incompetent. I am a little slow sometimes but????

I fail to see the connection between a drug bust in Davis and Woodland or Woodland's Police Chief. You aren't suggesting the Chief or any of the police officers are in the drug business are you?

Your not suggesting the Chief tells his officers not to enforce the laws, are you?

Your not suggesting the police offices fail to do their sworn duty because the Chief isn't giving them specific orders, are you?

I for one am willing to suggest that our police department is doing the job it is funded to do and if we want more then we have to pony up a few more $.

You asked: "So how does a drug bust in Davis relate to our Police Department?"

The press release stated: "...officers from the Davis Police Department, YONET, Woodland PD Gang Task Force..."

Obviously the drug bust relates to our PD. They helped.

In your original comment you asked nothing about the police chief and you did not say anything that could give anyone any clue about anything other than you didn't see how the Davis bust relates to WPD.

You jump to a lot of conclusions after a simple question.
