THE NUMBERS CAN’T BE IGNORED: Sergeant Dale Johnson of the Yolo County Gang Task Force estimated that in the City of Woodland there are over 700 validated gang members and about 200 affiliated gang members. In the City of West Sacramento there are about 200 validated gang members and about 150 affiliated gang members. He said Yolo County “and the cities of Davis and Winters have a total of less than 100 validated gang members and approximately 100 affiliated gang members.”
“The City of West Sacramento does have 116 validated Broderick Boys. This is a set of the Norteños.”

Another great reason to close our borders. Send every illegal and every child born in this country to illegal aliens back to their Country of origin.

I bet most of those counted have been here already for 2 or 3 generations. The people who come across borders come to work. No, the real problem is that our gang suppression attitude sends people (who know or are related to gang members)with minor infractions to prison where they learn how to really be a gang member. Prisons create more gang members, not fewer.
Or here is an idea that doesn't trample on the constitutional rights of children born on US soil AKA Americans. We-Yolo county citizens- could address the gang problem by investing in youth programs like a much needed Boys and Girls club or the boxing and fokoloriate dance groups that we already have now. Research shows that when you give kids a way to connect to their community and get some of their basic needs met (safe place to be, food, shelter, supervision, education) and you will see a reduction in gangs. We could respect the cultures in our city instead of in-fighting so that youth of all races don't grow up feeling alienated and turn to nihlism and gangs.
Or we could give everyone concealed weapons.
I am appalled; I knew Woodland was gang city, but to be home to 900 of the thugs - omg. No wonder our property values are not coming back at the rate of Sacramento (I own property in both places and my Sac place is rising but the Woodland home we've lived in since 1976 is losing ground weekly).
This should be a wake-up call - we need MORE gang-suppression and a lot of parental involvement from the Latino community. Miguel Alondro mentioned something about some of the gang element being here for 2 or 3 generations - does that mean the parents are also involved gang-wise? If that's the case - the "parental involvement" just may be the problem.

Hey Miguel you are totally right, do not send the criminals to prison. We should put a vigilante force together and hunt down every one of these gang members. The police have their hands tied because of people like you and have a hard time doing their jobs. I say no prison, just elimination.
I say we catch everyone of these gang members and send them to Iraq and Afghanistan. If they want to fight and make trouble this would be a very good place to do it. They would still be living off of the Government (no change there), get to carry weapons and shoot at people (no change), the only difference is they would be wearing green instead of red or blue. Hey Miguel is it dark in there?
