Dino, I copied this from your extended report @ the Record,
"Campers will be required to pay $20 in advance for an individual camping permit or $100 for group camping."
Is this a per nite fee? How many people are considered an individual permit? How many sites are available?
And
"Both Putah Creek Access site One and Four are primitive camping sites without water or electricity. Campfires are not permitted. Propane barbeques will be permitted."
So, no fires and no water or electricity.
What kind of camping does that leave???
I guess that's what they mean by "primitive." : )
Was this existing campgrounds that the county just acquired? That is, did they pay for this?
Was this something the citizens of Yolo County asked for? Or just something to waste more tax dollars on.
You know, Mr. Mcgowen, there is a reason why other campgrounds are being closed. What makes you think THIS one will succeed? The exorbitant fees? The limited use times? Or how about the lovely ammenitities? I sure hope that not ONE tax dollar has gone into this NON-CAMPGROUND.
The same kind of people who dreamed up this foolish campsite must be the same idiots who dreamed up our community center. Limited activities, outragous fees for a facility that is NOT easy to get to. So now we get a campground from the county that you can't camp at. And a community center that the community can't use. WOW! I guess we should say, thank you.
