WJUSD poll results
We just ended our very unscientific poll on whether you would support a bond for the WJUSD. I really can't believe they would be trying for a bond after the battle over their new district office. So far we have no details, which is usual of the district, but I decided to poll everyone before we got the details so we could do it again after.
For some reason I doubt details of our dire straights will change ANY minds. All I hear is we don't understand the situation. Yes we understand programs will be cut, sports will be impacted, things will be in danger.
I don't think they understand the situation. I don't trust them with my money. It is that simple. Pouring more money on a bad spending problem is not going to fix anything. Very poor decisions in the past and ones that are still occurring everyday need to stop. I will never vote for it until there is a big change in leadership. I just can't do it. For some reason I think the majority of the population in Woodland feels the same.
Here are the results of our very unscientific poll:
11 - Yes: Seven were board members, one supe, one financial advisor, one real estate consultant and one attorney.
11 - No: Not sure who these people were, but they were at least nice about it.
28 - Hell No: 19 were last year grand jury members, one was Dan Logue, one was Matt Rexroad, six were laid-off staff... and one was Dudley Holman from the great beyond.
5 - Maybe: These are five of the laid-off staff that voted twice, just in case they can get their job back.

Say it isn't so. I agree with Matt on something.
With the cuts that are happening (no admin. are being cut with out being rehired) anyone that votes for a bond needs to step back & rethink. WJUSD could not manage the money in the past & won't be able to properly manage it in the future. Do not vote for them to have more money to waste & give big raises to the admin.
Yup, a mini Bo Hama Stimulus package, 25% of kids aren't graduating with a HS diploma, union schools are destine to fail like union carmakers. No competion results in crap.
Sorry Realist, but I voted HELL NO and I wasn't on last years GJ:). I agree with the second comment, cut admin. 52 layoffs of people that actually teach the children ZERO(to my knowledge) layoffs of people that don't do anything to help our children. Back-ass-wards!
Lets keep counting those beans and let society handle the uneducated! WJUSD motto.....

wow
NO way that I would support such, at least with the current composition of the board. Recently they interviewed candidates for the permanent superintendent. The board excluded the community from the interviewing process. They wanted to have complete control so they could hire someone that would not question their moron actions. More of the same or worse with the new sup...
I suggest we start cutting at the top to save money first. Don't even hire a Superintendent, get rid of the Board, Tear down the Blue Cross building and make them move back to the second floor of the old Imperial Savings building on main where they belong.
