Most Restaurantes Mexicanos Per Capita: A Woodland record?

From the Woodland Record:

Could the City of Trees also be known as La Ciudad de los Restaurantes Mexicanos? There are at least 33 Restaurantes Mexicanos in Woodland, excluding fast food chains, mobile food vehicles, food carts and food processors. For a town of about 56,000, we have one Restaurante Mexicano for every 1,697 citizens (approximately).

Woodland: That's a good thing. Considering there are 2.5 million people in Yolo and the surrounding counties, day trippers from Davis, Sacramento, Elk Grove, Vacaville, Fairfield, Vallejo and Napa can easily travel to Woodland for samplings of signature Mexican dishes. Of course, they will need to visit more than once to make a sound scientific judgment of what Restaurante Mexicano is the best.

So can we entice our neighbors by proclaiming that Woodland has the most Restaurantes Mexicanos per capita?

Click here to read more and to look at the complete list (thus far) of Restaurantes Mexicanos.

Yes it is. That's why we came up with the story and the challenge. In what ways are those restaurants hurting you?

Don't worry, there's a new Carl's Jr. and and a new In n Out coming just for people like you.

Nobody said they were hurting anyone, people would like some variety other than mexican food or fast food. As for the people just like you comment, Dino has no idea what kind of people respond to this blog (like he knows them all personally), probably people from all different walks fo life respond to this blog.

I know exactly what kind of people make stupid comments... your kind.

You need to be prepared to take the heat if you're going to make anonymous, sarcastic and contentious comments. (Oh... and try some punctuation, too. It might help prove whatever point it is you're trying to make.)

If you don't like Mexican restaurants, don't go to them. And yes, sophomore, I realize nobody said they're hurting anyone. I asked if they are hurting you. Does somebody have to mention it before I ask it? If they're not hurting you, why would you care how many there are? Are the amount of the Mexican restaurants preventing you from going to the other restaurants in the area?

Viva los restaurantes Mexicanos!

I love having all the different Mexican restaurants here - although I prefer the trucks & carts. I think it is great that you can try the regional cuisine - not some homogenized American-Mexican card board with a colored cactus-shaped chip. I especially love the carts with fresh fruit & vegies that are cut to order & served with hot sauce - now that is how fast food should be!

3 Denny's
2 Rite Aids on Main St
3 McDonalds
3 Starbucks

Thats stupid.

The white people set the standard and the mexican resturants raised the limit. If we did not have a large hispanic population, they would not be in business. It fits with the agricultural community and they all have great food including Sylvanias Basket with best creme shrimp, the coach on East St by Tafoya's best tacos and burritos, the coach on Main. The mexican resturant by the car wash on Gibson has awsome tamales, Pacos best carnitas and the mexican resturant by Bel Air has really good shredded tacos and fish tacos.

That's stupid.

what a coincidence, Woodland also has some of the highest gang and graffiti per capita incidents too.

Dont fret. Pimentel will gather all of the gang leaders for a party at the fairgrounds again real soon.

What are per capita incidents?

Ok, I think we just won for the most Mexican resturantsy, corruptest politicians and un armed and civilian shootings in Yolo Count by law enforcement.

4 - un marked cop cars pull over a guy, 26 walking over the over pass. Were the cops wearing cop uniforms? No wonder the guy paniced and pulled a knife on 3 officers and they shoot him. Civilians shot, public locked out of civil court proceedings, man walking down the street killed by tazers on Kentucky Ave. Things are not right here. Make up your own mind, but the cops seem to be getting way ridiculous here in Woodland and Yolo County.
