Twitter anyone?

Does anyone in Woodland use twitter? I have heard great things about it and how so many people use it, but I can't find anyone in Woodland who uses it. Come on Rexroad, your telling me you are not on twitter? Typical County guy. We have signed the Woodland Record up on twitter and will use it (hopefully) to stay connected with our community. You can check us out here.

Me again from 9:18.

I did a google search and I guess I have to become a member in order to find out what it is.

I also followed the link the Realist posted above. I am not a member so I can not get in to it.

Is this just another techno time waste???

Old Fart 2 to Old Fart 1:

I signed up last night, and have the same questions you do. This is from twitter.com:

Twitter is a privately funded startup with offices in the SoMA neighborhood of San Francisco, CA. Started as a side project in March of 2006, Twitter has grown into a real-time short messaging service that works over multiple networks and devices.

Simplicity has played an important role in Twitter's success. People are eager to connect with other people and Twitter makes that simple. Twitter asks one question, "What are you doing?" Answers must be under 140 characters in length and can be sent via mobile texting, instant message, or the web.

Twitter's core technology is a device agnostic message routing system with rudimentary social networking features. By accepting messages from sms, web, mobile web, instant message, or from third party API projects, Twitter makes it easy for folks to stay connected.

Thanks Dino.

I do not own a mobile device (cell, blackberry, etc), but I use my computer to come to your blog every day. I like the issues you bring up.

Twitter sounds like fun if you can not stand to be alone with your own thoughts. :)
