To the Woodland City Council:
In reference to the Measure E funding of the Woodland Opera House Performing Arts Center for Youth. As members of Historic Woodland Downtown we urge you to support the Opera House expansion. While Measure E funds are doing many worthwhile projects for the City, this is the only one which directly benefits the downtown and it's merchants. Additional facilities and programs will greatly expand the number of patrons coming to the Opera House and increase business for stores and restaurants. At a time when so many downtown stores sit vacant, we cannot afford to miss this voter approved opportunity to give a boost to the core of Woodland.

Don't tax or fee us. Cut the bloat.
I agree... however you have already been taxed by Measure E. It's important to use that revenue for what the voters wanted - the Woodland Opera House.

I agree with that.
Why does Pimentel keeping objecting to this when he is suppose to be representing the voters?
Seems to me he forgot who elected him to the council.
Shame on Pimentel for trying to ignore the overwhelming majority of voters in this community.
Pimentel does not support it because the Stallards do not support it.
Given that this project was described in the vote to extend the sales tax as one of the featured projects it's time to move forward. It's vitally important to keep the commitments to the voters.
As for the "don't tax or fee us" sentiment, the Governor has a great plan for you: Expand the lottery. No wonder we've slipped from being such a great state.
Pull Pimentels financials and see how he got a large donation just before the PBID vote and you will see just how he operates.
We are just begining to see the money trail pimentel.
Dino,
Can you look in to the lack of an adult baseball field that was promised with measure E funds ? they advertised it in the Democrat .. where is it ?
