Candidate Dote posts ballot statement on Web site

The following is from Marti Dote's Web site:

Ballot Statement

Name: Marti Dote
Age: 62
Occupation: Business woman

I have lived in Woodland nearly half my life, and enjoy living here because of the people. I have served on the Opera House Board, the Chamber of Commerce Board, and the Planning Commission, and have wide experience in city matters. I am running for City Council because I want to:

• Provide more senior and youth services
• Practice smart, controlled growth
• Work closer with the schools
• Bring in better jobs
• Enhance redevelopment opportunities
• Help move towards being a “green” city

My vision for our unique city is a place where families can have housing, job and recreational opportunities to meet their needs. That vision can be realized if we build a stronger local economy, and keep our city on track financially.

I respectfully ask for your support on June 3rd, and thank all who vote for me. A vote for me is a vote for experience and commitment. (Click the title of this story to access her Web site.)

It would be great to have Martie who seems to genuinely understand public policy back on the council again. It would help balance some of the other elements who tend to be too trusting of developers.

Martie trusts developers I am not fooled. Sorry time for new blood.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I know her and her votes and stands quite well.

I am voting for Martie because I want a Gay Pride Day proclamation. She pushed for the LGBT agenda when she was on the council and she'll keep pushing our agenda if she gets back. A vote for Dote is a vote for Gay Pride!

I really wonder if that last comment was genuine. Sounds like a "hit" piece to me.
